EdrieAnne...... Ernest J. Tymon died on 07/15/1934. In the Voter Registration (1934) He was at the Arroyo Sanitarium in Livermore. Notice that the last name was spelled with an "O" instead of an "A". The obit for Myrtle that you refer to is it from the Oakland Tribune? She died in an automobile accident in Oakland. Law suit was filed in Oakland Superior Court. I will check for an obit for Ernest in the Oakland Tribune tomorrow. Since Frank was only 19 years old in the 1930 census, he may still be living. The step-father, Ernest John Tyman, 1930-1934 is a house painter living at an Alameda county TB sanitorium in Murray township, leading to believe that Myrtle and possibly her son and second husband all died of TB. Have you read this book? Below the Orange County Library listing. Bill Up and down California in 1860-1864 : the journal of William H. Brewer Brewer, William Henry, 1828-1910. Summary The journal seems to contain information for everyone regardless of one's interest...Each page of this almost six hundred page journal is crammed with facts and descriptions. So much of interest is contained in every entry that each re-reading will reveal many interesting incidents or observations not quite grasped on the first perusal....This book will be a valuable source to all students of California or United States history and to the casual readers as well.

I am looking for any info on Jacob or Margarett Steinman in Mendocino County. I believe they may have been in Mendocino Coun ty around 1880. They came over from Switzerland around 1865. They had children Jacob, Mary A, Kaite and Ensigne. Jacob Sr. was born in Neiderurnen Switzerland around 1837 and Margarett was born in 1846.
Jacob & Margaret Steinman were enumerated in South Fork Pct., Humboldt Co., CA in the 1880 census. See NARA Microfilm T9-66, Page 484D, Ed48, Lind15, Dwelling 34, Family 40. They had 5 children living with them, Mary A (10), Fredericka (8), Kaite (3) and Ensigne (1). Both parents were born in Switzerland, all the children in California. Hi Listers, Could anyone with a newspaper subscription, please look for a front page article of the NAPA REGISTAR, circa 1950's, for an article that tells about the Nap-A-Nee, restaruant burning. I was told it was an electrial short that caused the early morning fire and destroyed the premises...its now a gas station....so apparently they never rebuilt the place....sad! Thanks for all help with this search, its appreciated... ~Linda~ A Smith n' Wesson beats 4 aces! Willow Creek, CA.
Have you searched through the Sac Directories? I have tried, but I have to admit that I get confused who I am looking through. Maybe if we could find the last year that thy were listed, it might help? Betty
Betty, I just remembered that when we were looking for some of these folks we were looking for Bowler. In the interim, a kind gentleman found Dorcas Prigmore Sears' probate record. The administrator of her estate was John W. Bosler, husband of Elizabeth Jane Sears Bosler. His signature is as plain as can be. It is positively Bosler. The marriage record we found on the internet was recorded as Bowler which is incorrect. Thanks for all you do. Thanks Cathy, maybe the obit was published in another county. There are others in this family who died in Sonoma, Solano, and Mendocino counties. Only Elmont and his sister Ruby died in Marin. Maybe in a hospital in Marin? Ruby's last residence, according to the SS info, was San Rafael, Marin County. I am seeking informantion on Oliver "Ollie" Harman Craig (1867-1915) he married Alice Isabella Miller (1870-1953) (she remarried HERBERT). The CRAIG family was in Stockton, California by 1894 and remained there. They had 11 children, Myrtle, Hazel (m. Jones), Cecelia (m. Isert), Archie, Blanche (m. Petersen), Myron, Oliver, Alice (m. Seiler), Edith (m. Lokmor), Clarence, and one died in infancy. If you could post this information as a query I would appreciate it. If they are listed in a cemetery in the area that would help.
