He also registered for World War 1, but I can't get to the image. Suddenly it is not included in my membership at Ancestry although it was last week. According to the Voter's Registration of 1906 & 1908, he was a plasterer living at 1541 Fountain Street. There is a James Samuel Jamison living at the same address. He is a teamster. There is a pension file for him with the Civil War records and yes, I realize that he was born after the CW but pensions from the Sp-Am War are filed with the CW pension files and could be a large source of info. He served with the G8 Calif. Inf and filed for pension from Calif. in Dec. 1932. The Application number is 1,476,513 and the Certificate number is 1, 277, 324. 3. Oops I just demonstrated how to send a private message to the mailing list. Were you all paying attention? ********************************* Susan, Generally the list can't help with subscription issues. It's probably faster for you to contact the "admin" address of any Rootsweb list, in this case SOCAL-admin@rootsweb.com. I saw your message since I admin both lists. Another thing to check while not foolproof on slow list are the list archives at http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ In this case there was only 1 message in May and 9 in April - the list has become rather quiet. Anyhoo yes SOCAL is active and yes you were subscribed. Interestingly when you subscribe you are automatically subscribed to the plain version (non-digest) which appears as a checked box. In your case neither the plain nor the digest box was checked. I don't know if that means you won't get messages or that you just didn't get any because the list is so quiet. I checked plain. You should be fine. Feel free to post. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Yvonne Bowers Listmom, Webmom NORCAL, SOCAL http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~yvonne/norcallib.html On May 15, 2010, at 12:00 AM, norcal-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > Message: 3 > Date: Fri, 14 May 2010 16:46:05 -0600 > From: "ancestor" <ancestor@jps.net> > Subject: [NORCAL] SOCAL List > To: "NORCAL@rootsweb. com" <NORCAL@rootsweb.com> > Message-ID: <001501caf3b7$414f6f10$c3ee4d30$@net> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" > > Can anyone tell me if the SOCAL list is working?
