    3. VitalSearch covers California Deaths & Births 1905-2000 and Marriages 1949-1986. It is much easier to use FamilySearch because you enter the name and it takes you to the screen you need. http://www.vitalsearch-ca.com/ VitalSearch also covers other states as well. http://www.vitalsearch-worldwide.com/ It can be used without a subscription but you have to deal with advertisements. A subscription is $69.95 a year. ----- Original Message ----- From: Judie Cook To: Jeanine McNeill Cc: [email protected] ; [email protected] Sent: Sunday, February 12, 2012 12:41 PM Subject: Re: [NORCAL] [CASANFRA] 1905-1939 CA Death Index now onFamilySearch.org! 3. Anything containing high resolution images are extremely slow on dial-up. My cheapest advise is to make a list and go to the public library and see what you can find. If you want images take a flash drive, load the images and transfer to your computer when you get home, bypassing your dial-up download speed. Family-Search both in their search and indexing recommends against trying to do this with dial-up. There are so many images of real documents that the load is too big for dial up. EdrieAnne

    3. I would guess my slow dial up modem has something to do with the wait time? Going page by page with my slow wait time would take me until I was 110 to get to my names. It worked for me. But I had to wait a min. or so for it to load. And going a page at a time, two columns of names on each page, you get 2pages, 4 columns each arrow click. Even so it will take a long time to get to the name I seek. But pretty nice tool anyway. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Margie Hinton" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, February 11, 2012 8:53 PM Subject: Re: [NORCAL] 1905-1939 CA Death Index now on FamilySearch.org! > > All I got were two arrows pointing in different directions - and neither > one > worked. > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Margie Hinton" <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Saturday, February 11, 2012 8:48 PM > Subject: Re: [NORCAL] 1905-1939 CA Death Index now on FamilySearch.org! > > > And here I thought I was the only one with problems for getting this to > work. > > Margie > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "AO.Berry" <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]>; <[email protected]> > Sent: Saturday, February 11, 2012 5:35 PM > Subject: Re: [NORCAL] 1905-1939 CA Death Index now on FamilySearch.org! > > > I can't get this link to work.
