    3. Translated from 'Nordmændene i Amerika' by Martin Ulvestad, 1907. Boyd County Ole Johnson was the first who settled in the vicinity of Rosedale where there are now a few Norwegians. He came there in 1891. He is a veteran of the Civil War. The only Norwegian that has until now held public office is Henry Brandvig, he was elected Surveyor in 1897. There is a Norwegian congregation belonging to The United Church.
