    2. While we are sharing stories of our ancestors, here is one from the Lyngdal Bygdebok about one of my 10th great grandfathers. A lot more interesting than simply names and dates: Lyngdal Bygdebok - Vol. 2 - p. 40 Store Røyskår: Åsulv (Somundsen?) of Royskår was taxed at one quarter of a farm in 1594 and mentioned on the tax rolls in 1617. He married Anna Pedersdatter of Skoland who held ownership later at Hellevann in 1646. Åsulv was involved in a fight in 1605 and received a knife wound in the arm by Bent Hårigstad. In 1610/1611, he was involved in an altercation in Vigringstad in Kvås. There he stabbed Iver Vigringstad in the hand and also gave Besse Vigringstad two knife wounds. Åsulv had to pay a fine of 16 dollars and Ivar 3 ½ dollars ============================================================================== ====== Roy Boylan

    3. Hei Roy! Ahhh that Lyngdal bunch was a wild bunch. I have from the Bygdebok stories of drinking and fighting, mostly between family members. :-)) Trust me the early ones over here in America were quite the bunch also. 3. Margit, Would there happen to be Torkel Olson married to Taline Aanensdatter in that book? They had three sons - Ole Andreas born 1860, Aanen born 1863 and Isak born 1865. Torkel was married first to Siri Taraldsdatter and then to Abel Maria Torkelsdatter before he married Taline. If there is anything on them would love to hear. Thanks, Lori >From: Margit <margit@eot.com> >Reply-To: NOR-VEST-AGDER-L@rootsweb.com >To: NOR-VEST-AGDER-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: Re: [VAgder] Bakke Bygdebok >Date: Wed, 22 Jun 2005 15:00:38 -0500 > >Hei Roy! >Ahhh that Lyngdal bunch was a wild bunch. 3. Hi Lori: All of the three children were born at Eikeland in Heggbostad Sogn, Vest Agder. I don't know where the parents were born, but you probably would have to start in the Heggbostad area to find the paper trail to the parents birth places.
