Hello Richard , I am so new at this and your information is some of what I did not have. My documents show that Sivert Gjerding married Lise Amalie Larsdr in 1869 and she died in 1870. In 1875 he married Albertine Christiansen. He became a US citizen in 1896. I believe he is my great grandfather. All my family comes from Oslo from both sides. Names include Johnsen from Oslo, Smith and Christianson on my mother's side. My farmor was Selma Johnsen Swenson. She married George Alred Swenson in Brooklyn NY and had 2 children George A Swenson my Dad and a daughter Pauline who died at one year of age I cannot find any info on her yet. The Johnson side lived in Oslo. She had a sister Hjordis, Eibert and Josie. Both great grandfathers were sea Captians so the story goes. I look forward to any info that you have.
