Or, they may have a file name that would make it look legitimate. Spam or an infected e-mail might indicate a message came from RootsWeb.com, or from a mailing list at RootsWeb.com, but it DIDN¹T. An infected computer is sending these forged messages to you privately. RootsWeb.com cannot prevent these forgeries, nor the bounces for failed deliveries. To learn more, and for links to online sites that can verify your computer is clean, click here Osirusoft blacklist: 2003-08-27 Some subscribers to RootsWeb's mailing lists have been unsubscribed from the mailing lists due to excessive bounces. Upon our investigation we have found that the ISPs of these subscribers were using Osirusoft's blacklist services to assist in spam prevention. Unfortunately Osirusoft has shut up shop and no mail can be received at your ISP. The consequence is that if your ISP is using this service they need to immediately cease using that service so you can receive mail. We would recommend that affected subscribers contact their ISP and bring this matter to their attention. Once they have resolved their configuration then you should resubscribe to mailing lists where you have been unsubscribed, aka 'bounced off'. Check your list subscriptions at Password Central.
