My great grandfather, Christian Oleson, was born 29 Oct. 1829. I think it might have been on a farm called Opsal. His parents were Ole Pedersen and Marit Hansdatter. My great grandfather sometimes went by Christian Oleson Opsal and that is the name on his tombstone in South Dakota. He married Eli Syversdatter on 28 May 1855 in Torpa.
