Nils Dahl was born January 18, 1860 at Ostre Toten Norway, son of Ole and Kari Grytedalen. He was baptized and confirmed in his native Norway. In 1882 he emigrated to the United States and homesteaded in Section 32, Bear Park Township, Norman County, Minnesota. On December 8, 1891 he was united in marriage to Guri Hermandsen. To this union three children were born, namely Obert, Martin and Clara Beline. He died Friday morning, August 14, 1953 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his daughter Clara Beline, who died at the age of 13 years and his wife Guri Dahl who died May 21, 1938.
