Looking for descendants of Nils Gullicksen BERGE/LEITE/VEFLEN (1799-1844) who lived at Søre Leite (a smaller farm under the ownership of the Berge farm - in Høre), and later the Veblen farm in Vang, Valdres. He was married to Guri Trondsdatter (1797-unknown) who was born at either Møsåker or Midt-Givre. Guri later lived at N. Vøvle with her parents, Trond Torleivsen and Berit Knutsdatter. 1) Their first son, Gullik Nilsen Veflen/Leite (1822-?) immigrated to Goodhue County, then moved to Renville County. Married twice: Rachel and later Johanna. He may have moved to Canada and died there? 2) Tron Nilsen born 1825, at a small farm at Søre Veflen (AKA Vøvle), called "Ruskehaugen". Did he immigrate like many of his siblings or did he stay in Norway? Was he married? Descendants? 3) Gunhild Nilsdatter LEITE born 1827 at Ruskehaugen at Søre Veflen. She may have married and immigrated to Wisconsin. 4) Berit Nilsdatter (1829-1930) died young. Was there another Berit, daughter of Nils Gullikson, born later and married? 5) Knut Nilsen LEITE (1830-1922). Born assumed Ruskehaugen, a smaller farm at Søre Veflen/Veblen. He immigrated in 1864. To Warsaw Township, Goodhue County, MN, then Renville Co., MN (where he was Naturalized in 1878), and later to Brookings County, South Dakota where he died. 6) Sigrid Nilsdatter LEITE/VEFLEN(?) (1833-1902). Birth farm unknown. She and her husband, John John Estrem (AKA John Johnson Hæn; John Johnson Austreim; John Johnson Nefstad; John John Næfstad) immigrated to Warsaw Township, Goodhue County, MN. They lived there until their deaths. Most US records have their surname as "Estrem". 7) Nils Nilsen LEITE/VEFLEN/WEFLEN (1836-?). Born unknown farm in Vang, Valdres. Came to Goodhue County, MN. The 1870 Warsaw Township, Goodhue County census lists a Nels W. Nelson, age 33, and wife Emily, age 34. No children listed. Thanks, Vickie in Minnesota
