I have ancestors from both the Ringebu and Gran area..Family names connected to farm names from Hadeland/Gran area are Melbostad (family members still living there), Blegeneie, and Egge Gubrandson (Gilbertson). The name Pederson was also used prior to taking the farm names. From Ringebu/Favaang area Myhre, Romas, and Segelstad/Seiestad are the main names. This family also related to a famous woodcarver named Kirsten Listad and they have donated many items to the Maighaugen museum in Lillehammer. I too have the book by Einer Hovdhaugen. I am particularly interested in information about my great grandfather Anders P. Melbostad (Anders Pederson) who emmigrated and last settled in Wolverton/Wilkins Co.
