It would be most helpful if you could provide us with some details on this name. Do you have any given names, dates (birth, marriage, emigration, death, etc.), which would help us in finding more useful information? For example, in the 1801 census (http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe) there are two KRAVIG farms (nordre & sondre / north and south), but no Stenersens. BUT, there is a "Steener" Halvorsen, age 7, on Kravig Nordre and "Steener Halvorsen, age 21 (step-son), on Kravig Sondre. One of these MIGHT be the line you are looking for, but no guarantee... Then, in the 1865 & 1900 census reports, I find NO farm by this name. So, there may have been a change in ownership. Local historians may be able to help much more on this. Going by the "Steener - Stenersen/datter" name, I find six people in the 1801 census, 40 in the 1865 census, and eight in the 1900 census - all STENer (not STEENer). I find NO variation of the name of Kravig as a family name in any of the three census reports. If you have more data, I'd be happy to help, if I can. Have a nice day!
