Alexander was not a very common Norwegian name, so that makes it easier. Unless his name wasn't really Alexander and it was Anglicized. Do you have any dates for Alexander? Where did you get the info about Svennes and Oppland? Maybe there is more info that doesn't seem to mean anything to you, but for a Norwegian genealogy specialist, it will be clear as a bell. Please share all that you know :) I did a search for Svennes as a place of birth, and there is a Svennes local parish, in Oppland. So that could be very good info. It seems like it might be in Nordre Aurdal main parish today. The 1865 digitized Norway census indicates that there were 114 farms in the Svennes Local parish. I did find this listed at the LDS website, familysearch.org when I searched for him. We are way off. It says this for their marriage: Alexander HUSTON - Ancestral File Gender: M Marriage: 29 Mar 1864 Svennes, Oppland, Norway but then when you click on their names, it lists them as born in about 1700 for him and 1704 for her. Alexander HUSTON (AFN: 1SLL-5KD) Pedigree Sex: M Family Event(s): Birth: Abt 1700 , Washington, Pa Marriage(s): Spouse: Mary Ann (AFN: 1SLL-5LL) Family Mary Ann (AFN: 1SLL-5LL) Pedigree Sex: F Family Event(s): Birth: Abt 1704 , Washington, Pa Marriage(s): Spouse: Alexander HUSTON (AFN: 1SLL-5KD) Family Marriage: So whoever did the original research and documentation, needs to review this information and indicate which was the correct year.
