    3. Hi Margit, Just happy to be a help to you for once. At least that narrows his death date down. I also Googled this regarding his Civil War service: http://vesterheim.org/CivilWar/db/a/amm/index.html AMMUNDSON, Knud MN 3rd Inf Co D. Residence: Not shown. Born in Norway. Civil War: Age 40. Drafted 17 Jun 1864. Mustered the same day. Private. Discharged from the service by order 15 Jul 1865. Post war: Amundson, Knud, of Lyle, Minnesota, received a pension of $8 a month for having received a wound in his right forearm. Sources: (MINN p140) (MCIW p184) (Pension List 1882-3, Vol 4, p563.) http://vesterheim.org/CivilWar/db/a/amu/index.html AMUNDSEN, Knud Residence: Lyle, Mower County, Minnesota. From Bergenskanten, Norway. Civil War: Private. Wounded in his right forearm in the battle of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Post war: Living at Lyle. Pensioned at $8 a month because of that wound. Sources: (Ulvestad p267) (Pensioners on the Roll as of January 1, 1883, living in Minnesota, publ. 1994, Park Genealogical Books, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota). For what it's worth, Deb C
