Your John Oleson Brathovde was my great-grama, Matti Mortenson Brathovde's 3rd cousins. They had the same grandparents in Nels Olson B. 1767 to 1858 and Roennoug Larsdatter 1770. Their children were: Ola Nelson B. 1795, Mari Nelsdatter 1795, Kari Nelsdatter 1799, & Morten Nelson B. 1811. Ola Nelson B. married Gonnor then Eli Jonsdatter and had Ole Oleson Brathovde 1811, your JOHN 1823, Nels Olson 1833 and possibly a Kristen Olson 1905 who went to Oslo.
