Where are they referring to. > Without seeing the records Thjem means Trondheim. It gets a bit more complicated when you refer to Tjomo as that could be the place called Tjømø today. That would be in the opposite direction to Vestfold. Nordenfjelds is a general term describing a huge number of possibilities. It could be anywhere north of Fron actually. Most probably somewhere north of the Dovre mountains and a guess would be in either Nordland, Troms or Finnmark. Whoever wrote this had no idea where she actually was, and probably also wrote it without her being present. Another possibility is that the writer simply forgot the details but remembered that it was somewhere in the north. John Morten
