Clark and listers: Peder and Clara did have children, 9 to be exact, they all were born in South Dakota though. Their first child was born 1 Feb 1877. Peder was born in Vestre Thoten. Clara born in Vestre Thoten also. I have Peder as immigrating in 1870 but not confirmed that yet. Nor do I have information about Klara and when her family immigrated. Still looking into this. I have Peder's father, mother, and one brother immigrating in 1871 along with Peder's aunt (his fathers sister) and one other person. The funny thing is: I have a copy of the passenger list from a relative; the name of the ship, where it left, when it left, and where it arrived, but it is not online anywhere. It is not transcribed yet. Peder and some of his family was in the 1865 Norway census as the same for Klara. Her place of birth on the 1865 census says Vestre Totens Prgj. What is the g, ug, and e under marital status? I am assuming 'g' is married, 'ug' is unmarried and 'e' is ??? Any further information needed, please let me know. Thanks to everyone. Leah, ug ("ugift") = single / unmarried g ("gift") = married e = widowed enka = widow (nn) enke = widow enkemann = widower enkemannens = widower's enkestand = widowed enkja = (see "enke") (nn) ((source)) "http://home.online.no/~otjoerge/files/word.htm" If you give us the details from the passenger list, there's no telling what resources some of the Listers might have. I'll keep digging and see what I can come up with. Have a nice day! Leah, While this is not what we are looking for specifically, I did find some information about Peder Pedersen. This looks like Peder's confirmation on 06 October 1867: PEDER ANTON PEDERSEN Gjestrumbakken, born 12 February 1853 to parents: PEDER CHRISTIANSEN and BERTHE MARIE JOHANNESDATTER (the farm name coincides with their location at the time of the 1865-telling.....) (I cannot find a confirmation for Clara, so there is a possibility that she/the family emigrated before then - est. 1873...) This I believe to be his parents' marriage on 23 January 1846, in Vestre Toten: PEDER CHRISTENSEN Koukkersrudstuen, Koukersrud, Hammerstad, age 30 BERTHE MARIA JOHANNESDATTER Myrstuen, under Valheim, age 29 his father: CHRISTIAN PEDERSEN her father: JOHANNES OLSSEN witnesses: CHRISTIAN CHRISTENSEN Myrstuen and HANS PEDERSEN Holtestuen "http://www.slektshistorielaget.no/Kilder/vtoten/databaser2/ViedeVToten1844/index.html" This marriage date would coincide with the birth of their first child, CHRISTIAN, on 07 June 1846 (LDS records) Little by little.....
