You always start in America with all the records you can find. Marriage records, baptismal records of all the children, census records, death records, obituaries, land records, naturalization records, burial records. All the Church records you can get your hands on in the USA before you even consider hopping over to Norway. You have to have concrete records to follow, otherwise you don't have a clue which family you are following in Norway. Document everything in America first.
