To my knowledge there isn't a Gjerde farm in Land...Here's a list of the farms in Land from the landingslag website: http://www.landingslag.org/research/farms.htm and there is a Gjeile farm - close but no cigar? The only Gjerde (Gjære) farm I know of is in Sogn og Fjordane ... the husmann name would have been Gjerdeiet so that may be where the "t" comes from ...
