I do not have a registration to Rootsweb, so could someone pass this link on to the original poster? --- I did a search with names containing Kvaal or Kvål, and can find only one Knut born approx. 1888. The candidate in the link is Knut Jørgen Kvaal from Fetsund in Akershus from the census of 1900. He is the only male with this first name using the family name closest to the spelling used in the US.
