I posted my question in direct reply to his entry which stated "I don't know alot about parishes in Norway, I know when I type in Kvikne it automatically goes to Hedmark, Norway". What website and database was he typing into?? He is having a hard time learning and I'm trying to get him started doing his family research by himself. Being able to 'do it yourself' gives you a long term hobby of great enjoyment and allows information suggested by others to be checked and verified. The LDS Library Catalog of the familysearch.org website is one of the best ways to look up sogn/sokn and prestegjeld locations in Norway. Then still in the catalog the brief history information under the topic 'Church records' for each location then gives more information about where parish records were filed during various time periods. The digitized images of the Digitalarkivet were scanned from the LDS microfilms of those records. Typing KVIKNE in the Bustad search category only found those places where there was a farm of exactly the same name as that parish or district.
