"Egge" is a very common name around my home town - Mayville, ND. They include: Otto, John, Sophie, Joseph, Chris, David, Joel, Sharon, Glennis, and so on (they are all related in some way). I don't know where their families originated in Norway. However, if you think any of these people may relate to your ancestry, please let me know. I expect to see a couple of them (MY age) next month and may be able to set up contacts for you. Have a nice day! It includes some sample forms and formats for various church records. Volume 2 includes old handwritring and names used in Denmark and Norway. I also found useful a Research Paper published by The Genealogical Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which is entitled "Danish-Norwegian Paleography". I believe it to now be out of print - but it is available on microfiche from an LDS Family History Center. I encourage you to order a film and give it a try. That was the single most exciting step I took in tracking my Norwegian ancestors!
