    3. Hi Karen, Yes, I have the Kjos-Eggebratten book and my name is in there. My grandmother Clara Amundsen Johnson was a Kjos on her Dad's side and a Egge on her Mothers. As I trace my maternal side back in time, it ends on the Smedshammer farm, though I have been trying to get back further. I like your web site and am studying it out-- great work! I wish mine was so well organized. 3. Hi Brian, I am related to all 12 of those from Eid, if it is the same Eid (probably is). I am only related to the Kjos through marriage. (My grandmother's brother and sister married a brother and sister from Kjos). I will check my records on the other names. 3. Hi Bette: I also have Aschim in my history, farm on which my maternal grandmother and family lived. She used Bredesen when she immigrated, her two brothers used Aschim, they live in Des Moines mostly, part in Scotsdale and Waco. The Kjos farm of which I speak is located on the Randsfjorden and my cousin (until she died about 3 years ago) had a B&B there, and it is also hear Eisdand Campground on the Randsfjorden. Perhaps it is the same farm???? There may b some confusion as my cousin (who was a Kjos) married an Eid. I have to dig out some of my old records to double check some of the names you mention. I did belong to the Hadeland Lag, but let my membership go when I moved back to Oregon, forgot to update. I also did belong to the østfold lag (my father). I have a web site of my family history lcoated http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/s/c/h/Karen-E-Schaustein/?Welcome=1088612373 I hope this connection works. Check out my maternal grandmother, Karen Bredesen, Hadeland part. I was also there in 2000. I stayed for a time at this farm and the one across the highway, but was also with other family in Oslo, Tønsberg and Stavanger. They say anyone who is from Hadeland is related somewhere in the back history.Let's pursue this, there probaby is a connection. 3. Hi Brian, I have a Hans Olsen Egge (Eggebraten) in my line, but he was born in 1750 and I haven't been able to trace him back any father. Maybe you can for me? He married Eline Pedersdtr. Egge and her father was Peder Joensen Egge born 1734. Their son was Peder Hansen, born on Egge in 1788 and married Ingebor Jensdtr. Egge, whose father was Jens Iversen Egge born 1767. Then Peder married a second time to my Aunt, a Kjos. Confusing, is it not? Peder immigrated and went by Peder Ruen, but his second wife died on the trip over here. Their many children were mostly here already. Knut Andersen and Karen Nielsdatter (Aschim) Kjos are my grandparents, did you mean they are yours too? Bette in Minnesota > Hi, > I noticed some farms and people in my records, so I thought I'd comment. > > I have in my records that Birte Mogensdatter Eid, b. ca 1694 married in > 1717 > to Hans Olsen Egge. 2. Hi, I noticed some farms and people in my records, so I thought I'd comment. I have in my records that Birte Mogensdatter Eid, b. ca 1694 married in 1717 to Hans Olsen Egge. Birthe was a daughter of Mons Gudbrandsen Eid, b. Bet. 1656 - 1659 and was buried 06 November 1738 at age 79. Birthe had a sister Ragnhild Mogensdatter Eid who married Anders Gulbrandsen Askim in 1728, so there were family members on both farms. Karen Nielsdatter Askim, wife of Knud Andersen Kjos, however there is no relationship between Anders Gulbrandsen from Askim. Karen was daughter of Niels Nielsen Sommer Askim and Gulloug Hoversdatter Nes Knud was son of Anders Knudsen Kjos and Sigri Bentsdatter. It is also interesting to note the number of immigrants from these farms many generations later. There were 23 people emigrating from Egge, 1 from Midt Egge, 3 from Østre Egge, 8 from Eggebratten, and 42 husmansplass (Eggeeiet). There were 24 from Kjos and another 50 (Kjoseiet). There were 12 from Eid. Hope this was helpful. Brian Christensen Floyds Knobs, Indiana, USA
