    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/wd3.2ACIB/1068.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Sally, That's the 1880 census free at familysearch.org. You'd get so much more out of posting messages if you give all the details you know in each message. For example, if you put the info from the 1920 census, then I could surf in 1910 & 1930 censuses (genealogy.com) (which gives months & year of birth, how many children born, what age married, etc -- it's a great database, but a little cumbersome). Also posting the childrens' names you might stumble on obits or other researchers with your information. North Platte is in Lincoln County, NE. So you'd go to usgenweb.com and click into NE, Lincoln and see what databases are offered for the state. Here's another co. site -- http://www.wathenadesigns.com/Lincoln/ Another avenue would be the obits of your grandfather and his siblings for clues. And, if he were buried in North Platte you could phone the cemetery and see if a Jacob or Ann are buried together there ... Kate
