    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/wd3.2ACIB/947 Message Board Post: I also have many, many surnames William Howard Owen born 1884 married Nellie May Nolan born 1883 (1880?) William Howard Owen's parents are: Jeremiah Owen born Oct 1859 married Elizabeth Stevenson born August 1859 in England. Jeremiah's parents are: Harrison Owens married Emma L. (no info as of yet) I do not know who Elizabeth Stevenson's parents are. Nellie Mae Nolan parents are: James B. Nolan born Oct 1845 married an Eleanor Aphelia Sayers born 1850 (1851?) now this is where the Remple's and Brocks come in Kate Norine Nolan married Edward Remple and Jessie Estelle Nolan married Edward Brocks (whose father was Edward Brocks and Jessie Angle). Now the puzzling part is the family gravesite and if this helps anyone please let me know. In the gravesite are (these died after 1925): Sayers, Brock (Thomas), Patterson, Peters Some of the older graves are (all these people died before 1925): White (Thomas, Sally, Sarah, Louisa, Ann), Schofield (George), Sayre (Eva), Sayers (John), Griffiths (Ann, Joseph), McDougal (Sarah, Peter, Martha, Harriet), Sayers (John, Mary, Era, Frances, Frank), Nolan (Susan, Hannah, Frances, Frank), Nolen (Gertrude, Elenor), Nolan (James), and Remple (Edward, Katie) and all this ties in with the Smith family Eleanor Mae Owen born 1906 (William and Nellie Mae's daughter), married William Alexander Smith Jr. born 1900 (whose parents are: William Alexander Smith and Marie Emilie Polster). William Alexander Smith (born 1876) parents are: Lloyd Hunter Smith (born 1859) and Margaret Carr (born 1857) All I know about this family is that Lloyd's father was from West Virginia and his mother was from Washington D.C. and Margaret Carr's mother and father were from Ireland. This information I got from the Census. Marie Emilie Polster's parents are: Otto Polster and Hulda Stuckenrath

A relative of Amsterdam James NOLAN is looking for related families, roots, and reactions to the idea of Stillwater NOLAN origins. Does anyone know these families?

Surnames: Nolan Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/wd3.2ACIB/911.1.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Sadly, I do not know the names of Patrick's parents. I have been searching for them for a long time, and I fear that the only way to make further progress is to go to Ireland in person and poke around the area. However, Nenagh is the largest town in the northern part of Tipperary, and rather close to Borrisokane, which is just a few miles to the North of Nenagh. A large number of Nolan's lived in this area in those days, but it is not one of the biggest family names there anymore, as a great many Nolan's from that area left to come to the US. Patrick was a carpenter by trade, and also ran a small farm. He came to the US once, to visit his children, but disliked it here and returned straight away to Ireland.

Their is a Michael in my Nolan family, too, but he was the youngest of 13 children, was not born until 1895, and was the only one of his siblings who did not come to the US (he died young). But your Michael sounds like my Michael's uncle. Did your Michael James have a brother named Patrick? Patrick (b.Abt 1854) was my Michael's father (and my gg-grandfather), and Patrick had many siblings. And was your Michael from Borrisokane?

    1. [NOLAN] Portrait of Mary Nolan
    2. Roger Larose
    3. she was the daughter of Daniel and Catherine Devereaux Nolan.born abt 1840.it was taken by Thos North,71 grafton st ,Dublin. she was much younger looked more like the nolan side ,tall, slender.much different than the previous kate.family legend is that the family was from Dublin.came to america via canada. common is the locket worn by both women. extremely hard to tell age of photos.was the one of kate, actually that much older and the locket was handed down. this would say that they may have lived in london.or at least Catherine did.

He had six children. William, Helen, Ann, Edgar, James, and Raymond. My gggrandfather William was born in 1904. And if we're assuming that your James Nolan is the same, the birthdate you give for him would make him 17 years old when his son was born. I hope this helps!

My James Nolan married a Margaret McGavin, and the only child I knew that he had was my gggrandfather, William Donald Nolan. Both claimed to be destined for Yonkers, NY to visit sisters Delia, Julia & Mary. Yonkers address given as PO Box 172 Yonkers, NY. Both Nolan girls had their occupation listed as 'Seamstress'.
