In my line I have a Preston S. Noel. His birth certificate states that he was born in Boston, MA on 20 Sep 1920. His parents are listed as Helen Nolan and Frank Noel. He was listed in the 1930 census as living with his grandmother, Mary Noel, in Brockton, MA. This Mary Noel is my ggggrandmother. The only children that Mary Noel had that I was aware of were my ggrandfather Edgar Noel, and his sister Maude Ellen Noel. I cannot find a Frank Noel anywhere in our family. However, I found a Helen Nolan listed in the same household as Mary Noel and Mary's mother Julia Rand. Julia was head of the household and Helen was listed as Julia's granddaughter. Preston Noel, Sr. is dead now, but his son Preston is still alive and has children. If anyone can help place these people into their rightful place in our family tree, it would be most appreciated. Please e-mail me at the above e-mail address. Thank you, Jolynn Noel Winland

The oldest daughter is married and lives down the street. With the exception of one sister -- she was 92 when I visited here in a Senior Care Living Center last July -- everyone has passed away. I am going to pursue the cemetery route -- I know where my Grandparents are buried and maybe the other family members are buried there also. Thanks for your assistance. John Hannigan

Then I would PHONE the cemetery and ask for a Dan & Marg buried together for a quick date of death on Margaret. Every state/county has a death index. See if you can find your vital records info going through USGENWEB.COM - click through to your state & county .... Also, you should post the names of their children -- important in Irish family research. Can you see Dan in the 1930 census? Kate
Margaret: I have been successful in finding the exact death date (or at least the burial date) by calling around to the cemetaries where the person I am looking for lived. For example, what religion was she? What you will find is that if she was Catholic, most of the Catholics were buried in the same cemetary. The cemetaries keep pretty good records, and they will tell you if they have her there, and what date she was buried. One word of caution, though--women are always listed by their married name, so if you ask for her with her maiden name, they cannot find her.
