Surnames: Nolan, Lawless Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/wd3.2ACIB/1063 Message Board Post: I don't have much of anything to go on. I'm searching for information about my recently deceased grandmother's family. Specifically her father. His name may be Albert or Joseph or Patrick Nolan (really narrows it down, doesn't it!), and he's probably from the Peterborough, Ontario, Canada area. My grandmother didn't seem to know for certain what his name was, when he was born, etc. Are there any Nolans from the Peterborough area here? I'd love to get in touch with some relatives.

    1. [NOLAN] name variation
    2. Like the previus message of mine.I have been asked about the difference Nolan vs Nowlan many times when growing up.In Lawrence,Massachusetts.I never paid attention to it until now. Does anyone on the list now if there is actually a difference, that might be noticeable.like is there actually different origins. There are some Nolan family from France.possibly William the Conqueror.as Cambro-Norman names do appear in Ireland. Is Nolan one of them. This would explain why my grandfather was tall and lanky.with dark hair. The normans were actually mixed with Viking.Grand Father was a bare nuckle prize fighter. My father also was a boxer. long arms, big hands that had strong flat ends. "Hammer fisted." keep on-keeping on-never quit. Roger

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: NOLAN, (MAHONY ?) Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wd3.2ACIB/1060 Message Board Post: Help! I The only thing I have on this family is from the 1910 census of Baltimore County Maryland. After that I seem to be up against a brick wall. Has anyone heard of a Nolan family living in the Roland Park section of Baltimore, Maryland in the years before or after 1910? The street address I have is Cedar Avenue, which I believe is now Keswick Road. The father's name was Michael J. Nolan who was employed as a Baltimore County police officer. (This area of Baltimore County was later incorporated into the city of Baltimore around 1917.) Michael was married to Bessie (maiden name unknown) and the 1910 census lists twin daughters Amelia and Bertha, and Edward Nolan (brother of Michael) living at this residence. Also, on a marriage certificate for my great grandmother, it lists Edward Nolan and Mary Mahony as the witnesses, so there may also be a Mahony connection to this family. Any help, suggestions or even GUESSES - at this point - would be greatly appreciated.

I need to find a record for a marriage of Annie/Anna Nutini to Edwin Nolan. Any information realted to this family would help. The Nutini females are from Illinois. She married William J. Thomas July 24, 1897 (FHL #1420880). According to the records from St. Joseph's in Pocatello, her sister, Ursulina Nutini Williason, adopted her child. It mentions she was divorced. Again from St. Joseph's: May 2, 1896 joined in matrimony Manigan William Williason and Ursiline Nutini, catholic, witnesses Joannes Ash and Edwin Nolan born Nutini. The "born Nutini" probably means "maiden name Nutini" There are also the following land records: FHL 1527214 - Bannock Count Deeds Vol 7 Page 132: 20th of December 1892 Edwin Annie Nolan pays $125.00 for lots 9 and 10 of block 404 in Pocatello, Bannock, Idaho.
