    3. I don't understant this issue. From what I understand it is not a moderated list and it is the archives so anyone can read or join just because they are interested in New Mexico and what is happening with the NMGenWeb project in general. So if AB members are on or off the list all they have to do is go to Archives to read about it so why does it matter if they are on? As far as I am concerned I don't care who is on the list as long as the list is productive. This kind of bickering is NOT productive. Kellie Colfax and Union County, New Mexico Coordinator David Morgan <dmorgan1943@hawaii.rr.com> wrote: No problem, Charles, I would not want to be the reason that you refuse to spread your nonsense on the NM list I am not the only AB member on the NM list, by the way. 3. There is a virus being sent to several NM County Email lists. The heading looks like a normal county list but it is bogus. The messages contain a zip file that is a virus. My virus programs have caught all of them so far. Do not open any rootsweb.com county list email that contains a zip file. Please forward this email if you wish. Charles Barnum

    3. Charles Barnum, As usual your statements are incorrect and erroneous. Not a surprise to those who know you. If anyone has any questions concerning my actions or inactions please feel free to contact me at km1109@aculink.net and I will do my best to answer you. Charles you were NOT on the NM list prior to my taking office. You are not moderated now nor is anyone else. The list is not moderated and that can be proven. All NM business will take place on the official NM list, not on the SW list, or any other list. Thank you, Karen Mitchell New Mexico State Coordinator ----- Original Message ----- From: "jcnreno" <jcnreno@sbcglobal.net> To: <USGENWEB-SW-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, February 04, 2006 12:38 PM Subject: [USGenWeb-SW] NM GENWEB State Coordinator Karen Mitchell, SC--NM Since you have taken over NM as SC I have been unable to receive posts from NMGenWeb-L. You stated in a private email last month to the CCs that you had requirements as SC. You stated subscribing to the Project list was mandatory. I have subscribed twice since that time. You also stated you would not tolerate disruptions on the list. I sent you a private email asking what constituted a disruption. I further asked what action you would take against any disruptors and what authority you would base it on. I reminded you that NMGenWeb has no guidelines, especially since you apparently removed the Election Guidelines put up by the former, very capable, and may I add "Admired", State Coordinator. Since I can neither send nor receive posts to NMGW-L could you kindly answer those questions here? I realize that you also stated that you would no longer handle Project business by private email and all matters must be handled on the Project list. Since I have received no reply privately, apparently since all business is now handled on the list, and since I have no access to the list, I formerly apply to become the CC of vacant Mora County NMGenWeb. I see there are several county openings recently. I'd be happy to help with Mora County as CC especially since that county has never had any data or databases. I believe I can add some useful data to that county besides links. Once last item of Project Business: Can you tell me if the NMGenWeb project list is moderated or am I moderated? This may help me to understand why I have no access to that list. I do not know if my posts are going to the wrong address or if they are being blocked like you have/had me blocked on your Taos Co. list. To save time, if I am moderated, can you tell me on this list why I have been blocked? Since you have been SC I have no posts on that list that went through as far as I know. I was informed by a fellow CC that you had been ill for some time. If that is the case and you can not administer your post, I request that you turn your duties over to the NMGenWeb ASC. 3. Checking in! Bernalillo county -- just about ready to update the surname listing. I wrote to all the people and asked them for a short paragraph. All these people have these surnames listed, and yet visitors to the site really don't know who they're looking for....I'm getting some of the most interesting responses. San Miguel County -- things are settling a bit. When I first took over the county, I had a flurry of requests once I started cleaning out the backlog of queries. The researchers found out that I had the baptism and marriage records for the entire county (and several nearby) and I was able to fill in all their missing pieces. Yeah! Get better Karen. I've had the upper bug twice and just got over the lower bug. As for teeth problems, just finished all them too and now $4,200 is on my credit card. Angela Albuquerque

    3. Good morning everyone, Taos County checking in. Would all County Coordinators please check in? If anyone is working on any special projects for their Counties please let the rest of us know. Exchanging thoughts and ideas is always a good way for all of us to be more productive. Thank you! Mora County and Santa Fe County are now up for adoption. So if any of you know someone who would like one of these Counties, please have them contact me. We all need to help out to try to keep all of our Counties online, with no vacancies. I apologize if I have missed any emails from any of you, I have been ill for 3 weeks and found out yesterday I have walking pneumonia. So my energy level is in the pits. If any of you have any remedies please let me know (big smile). Consequently a lot of my work is lagging behind. I will try to get everything caught up within the next week. Hope you are well and happy! Karen Mitchell NM State Coordinator

I hope you are able to achieve the same level of satisfaction in the job, as I did when I was there. Over the last few years the State just seemed to run out of steam and in this environment I have just not been able to revive the interest that I once had. Neither have I had the energy it takes to keep up the passion, so I am now inviting you to pass Mora County over to another CC who will have the time, energy and resources to do it justice. To all my friends, goodbye. It was fun while the ride lasted. Regards, Leon C Moya

    3. Hey Sam, congratulations! Family Tree Magazine selected the 95 best free state-centered cyberstops for researching ancestors and the New Mexico Death Index was one of two selected! Below is the link to see the entire article: http://www.familytreemagazine.com/articles/dec05/statesites.asp The other site selected was "Locating Catholic Church Records is New Mexico" and this is another valuable tool for NM researchers. If you haven't already looked at it, please visit the below link: http://www.nmgs.org/chrchs-intro.htm Once the site opens, scroll down just a bit and find the table with the county names. Each county contains all the Catholic churches within the county, and other information on the page identifies what records (baptism, marriage, death) are available for the locations. Enjoy, Angela Lewis Bernalillo County San Miguel County
