Hello, Wild Bunch. The Advisory Board is voting on whether to adopt a new logo. Many people on the Southwest e-mail list have been discussing the issues. Anyone who is interested may join the list. The National Coordinator has announced a contest to design a new logo, but many people do not want a new logo. Others are concerned that we not be forced to use a new logo. Some are stating that we shouldn't have more than one. Since there has also been discussion about enforcing the use of the logo on the home page of our Web sites, I wanted you to have the opportunity to respond to Bettie Wood, one of our Southwest Representatives with your opinion. Her e-mail address is listed in the header below: nana321@earthlink.net. E-mail addresses for other members on the AB are located at: http://www.usgenweb.com/about/whoswho.html. Express your opinions to any and all of these folks. This is important information for all USGenWeb volunteers. Time to check your voter registration! If you do not wish to vote or receive a voter's password, please contact an EC representative to let the EC know. If you have changed your e-mail address since February 2004, you need to make the change in your voter registration. There are links at the bottom of this message for your convenience. Hi Susan, Yes several suggestions come to mind but so much of it would be conjecture. I think if we had more facts we could help with suggestions. You can write to me privately if you'd like. A CC from another state has been trying to get a couple to remove a listing of a cemetery survey that they took from her site. It was posted with no credit given the source and the person who transcribed it is very upset. She has written them asking that it be removed and our NC didn't see anything amiss when he checked it out. Recently, the man responded that his wife was tragically killed in an auto accident and the CC should just leave it alone. The way they interpreted the copyright statement on the CC's Web site meant that they could use it. Legal recourse doesn't seem to be an option. Suggestions? Update: The USGenWeb FGS Project now has over 14,000 family group sheets online. If you have ancestors in other states, you may want to check the project home page at : http://www.rootsweb.com/~usfgs/ Some researchers have stated they have found new ancestors by using the FGS. Update: NM ALHN Project now has Five early birth records online. These are county public domain records. If you are interested in doing a county for NM ALHN, please contact me at charlesnreno @ aol.com for details; see http://www.rootsweb.com/~nma/statepage.htm You only need a word process or Notepad, Word, or Works to do this. Each county can be completed in a very short time. Full credit will be given to each county project coordinator by NM ALHN. Update: The Tombstone photo project is getting email from all over the world praising the great work done by all of the photo submitters. We now have about 1,500 photos online with over 4,000 in reserve. Photos from counties not yet online will be given priority for uploading. Charles B. spring is coming! get out the gardening tools!
