He was born April 25, 1922 in Rotan, Texas to George and Lucy Jones Acker. Mr. Acker served his country honorably in the United States Army-Air Force during World War II and retired from the New Mexico Highway Department as an Assistant Maintenance Superintendent. Survivors include his loving wife, Lois Ruebush Acker of the family home; a son, Clay Acker and wife Catherine of Las Cruces; two grandchildren, Kyle and Kimberley Acker. Visitation for Mr. Acker will begin at 9:30 AM Friday, March 18, 2011 in Baca's Peace Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road where the Funeral Service is scheduled for 10 AM with Pastor Doug Cowan officiating. A Graveside Service will be held the same afternoon at 2 PM in Mountain View Cemetery in Deming with Leonard Ruebush of the Church of Christ officiating.
