Armijo Sanchez, of Las Cruces passed away Saturday, March 5, 2011. She was born and raised in Socorro, New Mexico on March 24, 1966 to Bobby Armijo and Genevieve Garcia Tafoya. Nadine was the eldest of her siblings and was like a second mother to them. When she was young, she was one out of two girls on a boy's baseball team. As a teenager she worked at KFC and Blake's Lotaburger. At the time of her death, Nadine was employed by Wells Fargo as a Home Mortgage Consultant, but could be best known for her long term employment at Coronado Finance. Survivors include her husband, Albert Sanchez, Sr. of the family home; a daughter, Sharlette Sanchez and a son, Albert Sanchez, Jr.; four brothers, Robert A. Armijo and wife, Esmeralda, Stephen R. Armijo and wife, Sonia, Christopher R. Armijo, Charles "Chachi" Armijo and Reina. Other survivors include several nieces, nephews and other extended family members. Two best friends, Kristine Flores and Debbie Byington, as well as a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Celso Tafoya; grandparents, Benjamin Garcia, Juanita Contreras, Crusita and Pelajio Armijo. Visitation for Nadine will begin at 11 AM, Thursday, March 10, 2011 in San Miguel Catholic Church, in Socorro, New Mexico, where she married her husband 18 years ago. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 12 Noon with the Funeral Liturgy to follow immediately thereafter. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the San Antonio Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be her brothers, Robert A. Armijo, Stephen R. Armijo, Christopher R. Armijo, Charles L. Armijo, Eddie Sanchez and Albert Sanchez, Jr. Honorary bearer will be Bobby R. Armijo. Nadine was a very fun and energetic person, never being able to sit still or keep her excitement contained. Her smile lit up the room and that is how she was able to build and keep her loving family of four and a close group of friends who would do anything for her.
