He was born September 23, 1947 in Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico; worked as a farm hand before becoming disabled and was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Those left to mourn his passing include his wife, Elisa Garcia of the family home; two sons, Cesar Muniz of Las Cruces and Sergio Muniz of Utah; four daughters, Monica Muniz also of Las Cruces, Norma Ybarra, Sylvia Muniz and Veronica Muniz of California; four brothers, Juventino Muniz, Demetrio Muniz, Casimiro Muniz all of California and Humberto Muniz of Meoqui, Chihuahua, Mexico, as well as four sisters, Luz Muniz and Micaela Muniz both of Oklahoma, Josefina Muniz and Margarita Muniz both of California and numerous grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. Calling hours will begin at 6 PM Thursday, March 3, 2011 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road, where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 7 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 PM Friday, March 4, 2011 in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral, 1240 S. Espina with the Reverend Rene Espejel, Celebrant. Cremation will follow and inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date. Serving as casket bearers will be Cesar Muniz, Alberto and Cesar Hernandez, Adolfo and Victor Corrales and Jose Ordonez.
