She was born March 17, 1962 in Las Cruces to Jesus Manuel and Bertha Baquera Ochoa. Carmen was a homemaker and a devoted member of the Roman Catholic Church. Those left to mourn her passing include her loving husband of twenty-six years, Mike Lucero of the family home; five sons, Michael Paul Lucero of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, Valentin Daniel, Carlos, Marco Antonio, and Ricardo Ray Lucero; two daughters, Erica Lynn and Sofia Monique Lucero; her mother, Bertha B. Ochoa; a brother, Manuel Ochoa all of Salem; two sisters, Lupe Lucero also of Salem and Bertha Salto of Michigan. Other survivors include ten grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; a grandson, Michael Alexander Lucero; a granddaughter, Libertea Rain Lucero, and a bother-in-law, Donnie Mathew Lucero. Visitation for Carmen will begin at 6 PM, Friday, March 4, 2011 at Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church, 117 Hartman Street in Hatch, where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 7 PM. Family and Friends will join together to celebrate the Funeral Mass at 10 AM Saturday, March 5, 2011 in the same church with the Reverend Ray Flores, Celebrant. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery were she will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Michael, Valentin, Carlos, Marco, and Ricardo Lucero and Manuel Ochoa. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels 300 E. Boutz Road, Las Cruces. 527-2222.
