McKinney passed away Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the age of 86 in Las Cruces, NM. Ted was born August 10, 1924 in Durango, Colorado to Abrum and Maude McKinney. While attending Durango High School, Ted played football and basketball and remained an avid football fan his whole life. (Especially the Cowboys!) In 1945 he married the love of his life, Nellie Louderback, and they spent their long years together dancing, hunting, and remodeling homes. Ted and Nellie spent 5 memorable years in Alaska where he worked for the Alaska Railroad. Upon returning to the lower forty-eight, Ted was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad as a carman until his retirement. Ted is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Nellie Louderback McKinney; son Floyd Alvin (Mac) McKinney and wife Star and their three children Tonya, James, and April Dawn; and son John L. McKinney and wife Mary and their three children John, Jeffrey, and Heather. He was preceded in death by his daughter Nedra LaVon Copeland. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011, at 11:00 am in T or C at Kirikos Funeral Home. Local arrangements by La Paz - Graham's Funeral Home.
