A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Deming on Wednesday May 5, 2010 at 10 am with Reverend Keath Baskett, Pastor officiating. Dennis was born November 21, 1975 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. God sent him to James and Joyce Bell three month's later. Dennis attended Deming Public School and graduated in 1998. Dennis was a light in this world that shown brightly to everyone who knew him. Due to Cerebral Palsy Dennis could never play sports, walk, talk very well, or dance, but he was never sad or resentful. He accepted the life God had given him and moved ahead with joy and courage. Dennis was a very happy and content person who loved with his eyes and his smile. Dennis was a history buff and loved all sports. In October 2009, he attended a Dallas Cowboy weekend at the new stadium and stayed in the hotel where the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders were - it was the highlight of his life. In 2003, he moved to Las Cruces where his life away from home began. He was involved in Karaoke, horseback therapy, swimming, bowling, dancing, and his favorite activity, "cruising for chicks" with his friends. Dennis was blessed with a family of care providers that loved and cared for him very well. His housemates, Ted and Randy were also his family and a huge part of his life. Another big part of his life was his nieces, Morgan 8, Carlie and Lauren 6. He never would agree to baby-sit but loved every minute of time he was able to spend with them. His sister, Kelley, a special education teacher is the person she is today because of his tremendous influence in her life. The family extends extreme gratitude to Progressive Residential Services and all the numerous people who have worked with and touched Dennis' life. Dennis is survived by his mother Joyce Bell, his sister Kelley Bell, and his nieces, Morgan, Carlie and Lauren Paulk. He was preceded in death by his father James Bell in 2002.
