ACKERMAN, 87, of Las Cruces entered eternal life Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the Heritage Assisted Living. She was born October 8, 1922 in Antigo, Wisconsin to Stanley and Anna Grall Klajbor. Mrs. Ackerman was a homemaker and a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons, Thomas M. Ackerman and wife, Ingegerd of Florida and Robert E. Ackerman of California; two daughters, Kathi J. Welch and husband, Don of Las Cruces and Martha Ann Duer and husband, Steve of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Jane Ostermaier of Wisconsin. Other survivors include six grandchildren, Jason Welch, Mark Ackerman, Alan Ackerman, Tim Thomas, Amanda Machen and Sarah Duer. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Emery Carl Ackerman. Visitation for Mrs. Ackerman will begin at 6 PM, Thursday, May 20, 2010 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road, where the Funeral Service is scheduled for 7 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, May 21, 2010 at the Heritage Assisted Living, 854 Lettuce Lane. The Graveside Service will follow at 2 PM, the same afternoon at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Alaina Johnson and the loving staff at the Heritage Assisted Living for the care given to Betty.
