He was born March 5, 1966 in Canutillo, Texas to Alfredo and Maria Ortega Baeza. Benjamin was employed as a detailer at Las Cruces Toyota. Survivors include a son, Mark Anthony Baeza of Las Cruces; three daughter, Jennifer Marie Baeza of Las Cruces, Angelita Baeza of Silver City, Yvonne Baeza of Anthony; his mother, Maria O. Baeza of Phoenix, Arizona; two bothers, Raúl Baeza and wife Jessica Marie Roman of Las Cruces, Ruben Baeza and wife Vicki of Oxnard, California; two sisters, Sylvia Baeza and husband George Beasley of Las Cruces, Rosa Portillo and husband Pedro of Phoenix, Arizona. Other survivors include his companion Norma Hernandez of Las Cruces; three grandchildren, Mark Anthony Baeza II, Nayeli and Jonathan Jaurequi as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Alfredo Jr. and Guillermo "Willie" Baeza. Visitation for Benjamin will begin at 6 PM Thursday, May 6, 2010 in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 224 Lincoln Avenue where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 7 PM. Family and Friends will join together to celebrate the Funeral Mass on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 2 PM in the same church with Reverend Andres Alava officiating. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in Anthony Catholic Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Mark Anthony, Raúl, Ruben, Steven and Ruben Baeza, Jr., Manny Lerma, George Beasley and Danny Portillo.
