(Ed) Emerick Jr. born July 21, 1954 departed from this earth on October 1, 2010 after sustaining a massive stroke. He is survived by Joanne Emerick, his wife of 34 years and children Anna & Chris Biad, Daniel and Jenna Emerick, Katherine, and Nathanael, his mother Sara C. Emerick, Deborrah and Bob Buckler and Camilla Haisten, his sisters. His precious grandchildren are Sara and Simon Biad. There are numerous nieces and nephews that are part of our family and were loved by Ed. Ed was born and raised in Las Cruces and followed in his father's footsteps in becoming a well respected homebuilder and developer, starting his own business in 1978. Ed cared for his clients and was grateful for them all and built homes of dignity and architectural beauty. Ed was gifted as a creator of unique home designs and enjoyed studying and teaching not only to improve in his professional goals, but to teach and give encouragement to others on their spiritual journeys. He participated for many years in leadership at University Presbyterian Church. Ed loved his family immensely. We all have many memories of his generosity, hours of reading to the children, funny jokes, trips to explore the old mines in the Hillsboro area of New Mexico, leadership in getting home schooling legalized in New Mexico in 1985, and his faithful care for his Mother, Sara. Our profound sorrow as his family is comforted only by the full assurance and belief that Ed is at home in Heaven where his joy has been made full. Ed believed completely that his source of help, strength, forgiveness in this life, and his hope for eternal life was only because of the love and mercy of Jesus Christ. Ed- husband, dad, son, brother, grandfather, and uncles, will be missed deeply. If anyone would like to know more about our or Ed's thoughts and hope in God, please feel free to contact us. We would love to talk more about this! The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be given to Campus Crusade for Christ (tax exempt organization which helps and has compassion on people the world over.) These donations can be mailed to CCC c/o Emerick, 945 Canterbury Arc, Las Cruces, NM 88005. Ed loved this organization and the many people we know who are on staff with CCC. A memorial service will be held on Thursday October 7th, 6:30 pm at University Presbyterian Church, 2010 Wisconsin Ave. after a private family burial service. Thank you to all who have given us kind words, food, prayers, the opportunity to be your builder and realtor and who have given us the blessing of friendship through the years. We are most grateful.
