Armendariz, 44, of Las Cruces entered eternal life Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. He was born August 2, 1966 in El Paso, Texas. "Tury", as he was fondly known to family and friends, was a member Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine and Parish, where he danced with the Matachines. Tury was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his parents, Gilberto and Celia Armendariz of the family home; his brother, Gilbert V. Armendariz and his wife, Amanda; two sisters, Isabel V. Armendariz, companion, Richard Casaus and Jessica Gallegos husband, Jerry Gallegos all of Las Cruces. Other survivors include his nephews and nieces, Domenic Portillo, Jerry Gallegos, Jr., Gabriel Casaus Armijo, Alex Casaus, Nathaniel Armendariz, Leah Armendariz and Jocelyn Gallegos. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Merced and Eufemia Villa and paternal grandparents, Eduardo and Adela Armendariz. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 6 PM, Thursday, October 28, 2010 in Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine and Parish in Tortugas, where the Prayer Vigil will begin at 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 AM, Friday, October 29, 2010 in the same church. Cremation will follow and inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date. Serving as casket bearers will be Richard Casaus, Jerry Gallegos Sr. and Jr., Erick Aragon, John Mendez, Charlie Flores. Honorary bearer will be Jorge Castañeda.
