Lujan, 83, longtime Deming resident died Monday night, January 13, 1992 at MemorialMedical Center in Las Cruces. Calling were Wednesday afternoon, January 15, 1992 at Baca's Funeral Chapel and the rosary that evening at St. Anns;s Catholic Church and the Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated there Thursday morning, January 16, 1992. The Augustinian Recollects will officiate and Internment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. He was born June 20, 1908 in Villa Lopez, Chihuahua and was a long time resident of Deming. He was an employee of Deming Packing Company until his retirement in 1970 and a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. Lazaro is survived by his wife, Elena of the home; two daughters, Margaret L. Rodriquez and Lydia L. Tarango of Deming; two sisters, Angelita Vega and Nortencia Moreno of Villa Lopez, Chichuahua; six grandchildren, Robert P. Lujan of Hobbs, Yoli R. Viramontes, Yvonne M. Rodriquez, Manuel Tarango, and Sylvia Lujan of Deming, Maria Lujan of Albuquerque; five great-grandchildren, Ricky Viramontes of Kentucky, Olivia and Nicki Viramontes of Deming, Patrick, and Anthony Lujan of Hobbs. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Delfina. Pallbearers will be Eddy Woods, Andres Porras, Rick Viramontes Jr., Danny Arteche, Danny Rivera and Jim Ortiz Sr. Baca's Funeral Chapels of Deming are in charge of arrangements.
