Lupe was born to Salvador and Maria Del Refugio Lopez on January 20, 1959, in Mexico but spent most of her life in Las Cruces. After the passing of her mother, she dedicated her life to raising her younger brother and sisters, once she had finished that she went to help raise her nieces and nephews. Lupe was always full of life and love for others. She always had a gentle smile and kind words for those who mattered most to her, her family. Lupe returned to Las Cruces in December 2009, after spending 10 years in Kansas caring for her sister Zenaida's children. When Lupe moved back to Las Cruces, she cared for Jose's boys, up to the point when she got sick. She will forever be missed, and although some of her nephews are too young to remember her, they will always know who "Titi" was and how much she loved them. They will know that she lived for them. Because although Lupe never had children of her own, she adored her nieces and nephews like they were her own. Lupe is survived by her father Salvador Lopez of Las Cruces; sisters Maria Del Refugio and husband Trino Villareal, of Las Cruces; Teresa Lopez of Las Cruces; Irene and husband Javier Marrufo of Mexico; Maria Elena Salazar of Las Cruces; Maria Perez and partner Juan Gomez of Las Cruces; Imelda Lopez and partner Filiberto Ortega of Las Cruces; Zenaida and husband Horacio Vasquez of Albert Kansas; her brother Jose Manuel Lopez and partner Diana Talamantes of Las Cruces; and sister Magnolia and husband David Borunda of Las Cruces. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews: Cynthia, Rocio, Martha, Juan Francisco, and Uriel Marrufo; Jaime and Israel Villareal; Christian, Juan Antonio, and Noel Perez; Edward, Shawna, and Luis Guerra; Azalea and Amber Salazar; Allan, Bryan, and AlexSandra Vasquez; Thomas and Zachary Borunda: her "terrible, terrible" Manny and Roberto Lopez, whom she was planning a first birthday party for in November. She is also survived by 17 great nieces and nephews. Lupe is preceded in death by her mother Maria Del Refugio. Serving as casket bearers will be Jose Lopez, Edward Guerra, Juan Antonio Perez, Christian Perez, and Noel Perez. Thank you Dr. Rauth for doing all you could, and thanks to all the special nurses and staff at MMC who cared for Lupe, especially Kim. You are much appreciated. Viewing for Lupe will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2010 from 5-7pm at La Paz-Graham's Funeral Home 555 W. Amador with a prayer vigil to begin at 7:00PM. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 1, 2010 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church to begin at 10:00am with burial to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
