She was born on June 24, 1917 in Brooklyn, New York. She grew up in closter, NJ where she loved playing basketball and racing the boys on ice skates on the frozen reservoir in winter. She was a New York runway model during her youth, and continued to model after marrying. With her husband, William Chace, she had one daughter, Linda McCamley, whom she loved dearly. She cherished her role as wife and mother. After her husband's passing, she moved to Pennsylvania where she pursued her lifelong love of traveling with her brother, John Bodenheimer. They took road trips all over the country, stopping at National Parks to hike. She loved sending postcards to her two grandchildren, Bill and Maureen, who were the loves of her life. Moving to Las Cruces in 2004, she spent many wonderful years in her apartment at Good Samaritan, where she loved to cook and bake. She also continued her travel, going with her daughter on cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska, Mexico, and Hawaii. After moving to Heritage Assisted Living, she was known as the "go-go" girl since she loved to always be doing something or going somewhere. She was quick to smile, loved to laugh, and she always, always looked her best. Special thanks to Alaina and everyone at the Heritage, who gave her a wonderful home full of caring, love, and laughter and to Charlotte, Fr. Dong and the Hospice Team for their wonderful care. She was buried in Closter, because no matter where she lived, New Jersey was always home."Good Ole Jersey". Her special request would be to keep the birds fed and happy.
