Lucero, 74, of Las Cruces entered eternal life Friday, October 22, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born October 28, 1935 in Rincon, New Mexico to Ramon L. and Emilia S. Lucero. Mr. Lucero was retired and was a life member of Knights of Columbus, Council 1226. He was also a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Survivors include his loving wife, Margarita S. Lucero; son, Phillip D. Lucero of Denver, Colorado and daughter, Kristina A. Lucero of Las Cruces; two grandchildren, Jose Carpio Griego and Nadege Belicia Griego. Other survivors include two sisters, Dina L. Garcia and husband, David and Sally L. Rivera, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramona and Emilia Lucero brother, Joel S. Lucero and two sisters, Stella Evans and Mabel Thompson. Visitation for Mr. Lucero will begin at 6 PM, Tuesday, October 26, 2010 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road, where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled to begin at 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, October 27, 2010 in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral. Cremation will follow in inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date. Serving as casket bearers will be Tomas Soltero, Henry Lara, Lalo Soltero, Jr., Christopher Rivera, Richard Garcia and Carlos Armendariz.
