Interment occurred on September 03, 2010 at the Masonic Cemetery in Las Cruces, NM. Funeral arrangements were made through Baca's Funeral Chapel. He is preceded in death by his mother Tiburcia Escalera and his sister Mariana Rojas Escalera. He is survived by his biological children; Monico Jr., Lorenzo, Helen, Jessica and Cindy Escalera. He is also survived by Clara Rojas Escalera, mother to his children and numerous grandchildren. Monico is survived by his father, Manuel Escalera Sr. of Las Cruces, NM, his brothers; Javier Hernandez of Mexicali, Mexico, Modesto Escalera of Tucson, Arizona, Elias Escalera of Albuquerque, NM, Manuel Jr. and Michael Escalera of Las Cruces, NM and Robert Escalera of Palms Springs, CA. In addition, he is survived by his sisters; Mary Perez and Ophelia Hernandez of Indio, CA, Guadalupe Escalera, Margaret Malone, Leticia Sarracino, Susan Escalera and Enedina Escalera all of Las Cruces, NM. Monico had numerous nephews and nieces from Mexico and from the States of New Mexico, Arizona, Illinois, Nevada, California, Texas and other parts of the country. Monico had an extensive family to include brother and sister-in-laws, uncles, aunts and cousins from Mexico, Texas, California and other parts of the country, as well. Monico you were loved and will truly be missed by those who really loved you, Your Family.
