Salazar, 83, passed away in El Paso, Texas after a lengthy illness on Saturday, September 17, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Maria Salazar and sister in law, Eva Salazar. Survived by her brothers, Manuel (Herlinda) Salazar, Dolores "Rocha" Salazar and Jesus (Jessie) Salazar; sisters, Juanita and Ascencion "Ann" Salazar and nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Services will take place at St. Anthony's Catholic Church on Monday, September 20, 2010, visitation at 6 p.m. to 7 p.m, with a rosary to follow at 7 p.m. Funeral mass on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 10 a.m. with Father Andres Aldava officiating. She will be laid to rest at Memory Garden's of the Valley in Santa Teresa. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Charlie, Richard, Jimmy, Johnny, Larry, Sixto and Jason Salazar. The family wishes to thank her caregivers (nieces) for their tender, loving care, Stefanie Garcia, Maggie Lozano and Martha Sanchez, because of them we were blessed with her for many additional years.
