Herrera, 86, of Las Cruces entered eternal life Friday, September 10, 2010 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. She was born September 18, 1923 in Las Cruces to Dolores and Josefina Garcia Herrera. She was a homemaker and a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Survivors include her nephews, Joe Valles and Johnny Valles; nieces, Lori Valles and Norma Valles as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters. Visitation for Ms. Herrera will begin at 6 p.m., Monday, September 20, 2010 in Baca's Funeral Chapels, 300 E. Boutz Road, where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Her funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2010 in St. Genevieve's Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina Street. The rite of committal and interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Joe, Johnny and Joe Valles, Derrick Sanchez, Saul Ortega and Andrew Gutierrez.
