Betts, 76, of Las Cruces, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010. She graduated from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana and enjoyed a successful career as an interior designer. Shirley enjoyed traveling, collecting, and researching genealogy. Her marriage to Maurice Hamilton gave her two wonderful daughters Susan and Betsy. After moving to Green Valley, AZ in 1985 she married James A. Betts, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her children Susan Grandle (Jerry) of Las Cruces and Betsy Roberts (Tom) of Moscow, Kansas. She is also survived by her grandchildren John, Katie, and Emily Grandle and Brandy, Abby, and bonnie Roberts. Also surviving is her sister Barbara Smith (Ed) and brother-in-law Craig Betts. Graveside services to celebrate her life will be at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 04, 2010 at Masonic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung association.
