He was born June 15, 1956 in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico to Felipe Solis, Sr. and Maria Esther Solis. "Pipo" as he was fondly known to family and friends was a construction worker by trade. Survivors include his loving wife, Jela; three sons, Fito Solis and wife, Cindy, Jr. Solis and Joel Solis; two daughters, Maria Sanchez and husband Efrain and Cynthia Martinez and husband Ivan; two brothers, Arturo Solis and wife, Cristina of Las Cruces and Juan Solis and wife, Esperanza of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Margarita Gallardo and husband, Isaac and Marina Gallardo and husband, Lucio all of Las Cruces. Other survivors include seven grandchildren, Stephanie, Israel, Samuel, Andrea, Jacqueline, Adolfo and Esmeralda, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family member. Visitation for Pipo will begin at 6 p.m., Thursday, August 12, 2010 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road, where the evening service is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, August 13, 2010 in the same chapel. Concluding service and interment will follow in Missionary Ridge Cemetery in Mesquite where he will be laid to rest.
