She was born March 03, 1940 in Las Cruces to Braulio G. and Natalia D. Torres. She resided in Las Cruces until 1959 when she moved with her family, to San Jose, CA. Viola was a Native American who belonged to the Piro-Manso-Tiwa Tribe of Guadalupe Pueblo of Las Cruces. She enjoyed traveling to Las Cruces every December for the celebration of the tribes "Feast" days. She also loved spending as much time as she could with her family, especially her Grandchildren. Viola will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her loving husband, Carmello Castillo of the family home, a son Manuel Bustillos and a daughter Belia Bustillos, both of El Cajon, CA. She is also survived by five brothers: Danny Duran, Armando Torres and George Torres, all of San Diego, CA, Braulio Jr. Torres of San Jose, CA and Henry O. Torres of Las Cruces, NM; Five Sisters, Yolanda Torres, Olivia Gamino of San Jose, CA, Sandra Ibarra, Debra Covarrubia and Yvonne Torres all of San Diego, CA. Other survivors include fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three aunts, one uncle and numerous nephews and nieces. Viola was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services were held August 28, 2010 in San Diego, CA. Cremation will take place and her cremains will be laid to rest next to her Mother, at Greenwood Cemetery in San Diego, CA.
