He was born In the Bronx, NY on May 05, 1942 to Lawrence Sr. and Eileen Conway. He lived most of his life in Jersey City, NY. He worked at the New York Times for Many years of his life. After working for so long he finally retired and moved to Las Cruces, NM in March of 2008. Larry's favorite past time was bowling and he was a member of the Chilli's bowling club. However bowling was not the only past time he had. He enjoyed camping, hunting, shooting and watching the history channel and animal planet. Larry was an animal lover; it was because of him that his family ended up with five dogs. He was very straight forward, sarcastic, friendly and had a great overall personality. Many admired his strength because pain was not a word he used often no matter how much he may have hurt. Although he did not spend many years here in Las Cruces he will be missed by the many he met, befriended and loved. He is survived by his wife Ricka Conway of the family home, Julissa and her daughter Cassidie Rodriguez; sons, Lawrence, Jack and Richard Conway; step-son John Melendez and step-daughter Tina Albino. He is also survived by his sister Eileen "Babe" Watts; sister-in-law Annmarie Meyhoefer and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be held to honor his life at 10 a.m. Monday August 18, 2010 at the Getz Funeral Home Chapel. Burial of cremains will follow at a later date at the Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
